Deciding to Sell a Watch

Many people do not know how many valuable items are around them just collecting dust.  When a decision is made to sell a watch, it will come as a pleasant surprise to find that a grandparent’s old watch is actually worth thousands of pounds.  Of all the old stuff that just sits in storage, old jewellery is probably the most valuable.  Watches, when unable to be used anymore, usually end up being thrown aside and forgotten.  Getting a watch assessed, especially if it looks like an old piece of junk, may be the most important move that anyone makes in their lives.  Many a fortune has been made from an “old piece of junk”. It is possible to sell used watches and make a little extra money.  If the watch bears a designer name like Patek Philipe, Omega, Bvlgari, IWC or any other major watch design house, it is important to get it valued.  No matter what condition the watch is in, if it bears any designer brand name, it is still a valuable item.  Whether the intention is to sell a broken Rolex, or to sell Cartier watch, money will still be made after a valuation has been done.  Some watches of interest do not need to have brand names.  Pocket watches, for example, are a favorite.  As pocket watches are no longer used, they are rare and hold high value.  If an individual owns a pocket watch, they should not get rid of it before a valuation is done.
